Teaching & Assessment
The Classroom
This lesson was a fun and interactive time for myself and my students. Throughout this lesson students had plenty of opportunities to not only learn new information but also reinforcement opportunities to make sure that the knowledge this lesson had to offer was memorable for students. The utilization of the ViewSonic and Chromebooks together allowed this lesson to be successful. Students were able to quickly find information and then put it to use during our activities. While I do believe that all of the activities were successful in helping students grasp the main points of the lesson I will be changing a few things for the next one. The parts of this lesson that I found to receive the most positive responses across my sections were the gallery boardwalk, as well as, the group discussion. When students got to come together and incorporate their personalities and feed off of each other it created a learning environment where everyone felt more comfortable regardless of individual ability or knowledge level. For the future I will definitely be incorporating more activities like that. While the brochure, postcard, and other activities were good for learning they seemed to garner less engagement or interest from students. I believe all of the objectives listed in my lesson plan were met successfully as well, students did very well on all of the assignments and showed understanding of the content regardless of the assessment method. I had many students express that they enjoyed the lesson and wanted more like it. Some expressed that they felt confident enough with the materials and objectives that next time they wanted to create another digital boardwalk and teach the content to me!

Work samples and Lesson in Action.
Students love getting to work with partners and and applying knowledge they have to help draw conclusions about knowledge they are going to acquire.

Helping students immerse themselves in the content you want them to learn often helps.

Another fun and engaging activity my students enjoyed was a digital boardwalk PowerPoint.
